Woodcrest Wolverines

Principal's Message

Dear Woodcrest Families,

Tomorrow, Monday, December 1st, we return from Thanksgiving Break and jump right into one of our favorite times of the year—our 13 Days of Holiday Spirit! Each day will have a fun themed dress-up activity. Please check the flyers below for the full schedule.

Students can earn points for their 2nd period class, and the class with the highest participation by December 16th will win a cupcake and cookie party—along with bragging rights! Will Mr. Kemble’s 8th grade 2nd period take the title again, or will a new class rise to the top? We can’t wait to find out!

A reminder that the end of the 6-week grading period for Trimester Two is December 12th. These grades are especially important, as they will be used in January for Basketball tryouts. Please encourage students to stay focused and finish strong.

On Thursday, December 11th, we will be hosting a Raising Cane’s Fundraiser from 12 PM to 9 PM at the Cane’s in the Chino Spectrum. Let them know you’re from Woodcrest to support our ASB program—and please invite friends and family!

We also invite you to come support our talented musicians. Our band will be proudly performing in theĀ Chino Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 13th.Ā In addition, ourĀ Christmas Band PerformanceĀ will take place onĀ Monday, December 15th at 6 PM in the gym.Ā

We look forward to a festive, spirited, and productive start to December. Have a wonderful week, Wolverines!

Please ensure your student:

  • Arrives to school and each class on time.
  • Comes prepared and ready to learn each day.
  • Brings their school ID, charged laptop and charger, and all necessary materials.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support in helping every Woodcrest Wolverine succeed!

Important Reminders:

  • Student ID badges must be worn daily.Ā If a student does not have their ID they can go to the office to have one printed for them for the day. On the 3rd instance they will receive a lunch detention for not being responsible. It is the student's responsibility to wear it daily. ID Badges are used during lunch time to speed up the process for students getting their lunch in the lines. If students do not have their ID's on them they will be asked to go to the back of the line as to not hold up the lunch lines.Ā

  • Hats are not permittedĀ on campus

  • No Gum on campus

  • Phones, ear buds, headphones, and all electronic devicesĀ must beĀ turned off and stored in backpacksĀ before entering campus

  • There isĀ no student drop-off in front of the school

    • Students may enter from theĀ north side by the parkĀ or theĀ south side near the LibraryĀ (see map below)

  • Students should bring theirĀ agendas,Ā charged laptops, andĀ chargersĀ every day

  • Please review the student handbookĀ located in the agenda before the first day of school

  • EveryĀ Friday is School Spirit Day!Ā WearĀ purple, black, grey, or aĀ Woodcrest shirt

Drop Off and Pick Up Options

Dear Woodcrest Families,

To help keep our students safe, please follow our designated drop-off and pick-up procedures:

South Side (Bon View Entrance)

  • Enter from Bon View (next to Liberty Elementary).

  • Pull forward toward Campus before stopping.

North Side (Driveway Past the Gym)

  • Enter the driveway past the main office and the gym.

  • Continue down the second driveway and follow the loop to exit.

Front of the School (Campus Street)

  • You may use the pull-in section along Campus Street for drop-off or pick-up.

  • This is not part of the driveway.

🚫 Not Allowed

  • No drop-off or pick-up in the driveway directly in front of the office.

  • No parking in school parking spaces for drop-off or pick-up.

  • No stopping or parking in the private community across from the school.

    • This is private property, and the community has informed us that vehicles will be towed or ticketed.

Why This Matters
Students use the crosswalks in our parking lots, and unauthorized driving through these areas creates safety hazards.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping all Wolverines Respectful, Responsible, and Safe!

Phones need to be turned off and in backpacks prior to entering the gates, along with earbuds, headphones, any electronics.

As the weather is changing we still have sweatshirts available for purchase!

Purchase Spirit Wear in the Office to support our ASB!

PBIS Spirit Points and Student Involvement

Grade levels earn spirit points throughout the school year and the grade with the most points at the end of the year earns an extra end of the year activity.

Counselor Corner

šŸ’¬ Counselor’s Corner: Week After Thanksgiving Break, Dec 1st-5th

Dear Families,

Welcome back! We hope everyone had a restful and joyful Thanksgiving Break. We are excited to finish the year strong—there are only 13 school days until Winter Break, and this is an important time for students to stay focused and finish the second 6-week grading period successfully.

šŸ“š Academics – End of 6 Weeks on December 12th
The end of the 2nd 6 weeks of Trimester 2 is Friday, December 12th. These grades are especially important because they will be used to determineĀ eligibility for basketball tryouts in January.
To participate, students must meet the GPA and citizenship requirements—so now is the time to:

  • Turn in any missing work

  • Check in with teachers

  • Attend intervention or extra help sessions

  • Stay organized and complete assignments on time

Encourage your student to make the most of these final days before grades are submitted!

šŸ€ Basketball Eligibility
Students wishing to try out in January must:

  • Have a 2.0 GPA or higher

  • Maintain O’s and S’s in citizenship
Healthy habits, staying on top of work, and positive behavior will help them qualify.

🌟 PBIS: Respectful, Responsible, Safe
Continue to earn PBIS points every day! Students can redeem them in the Wellness Room/Zen Den before school. Let’s finish these 13 days showing our Wolverine expectations with pride.

šŸ’œ Social-Emotional Support
This time of year can be both exciting and stressful. Encourage your student to take care of themselves by:

  • Getting enough sleep

  • Managing their time

  • Talking to a trusted adult if they feel overwhelmed
We are here to support students emotionally and academically as we finish the calendar year.

Let’s make these last 13 days count and finish strong together! šŸ’ŖšŸ’œ

šŸ“˜ Before School Intervention has started!
Before School Intervention Program for students who need extra academic support.

  • Days: Every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

  • Time: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM

  • Location: Library
Students who are struggling in their classes should see Miss Torres for a Before School Intervention Permission Slip. A parent signature is required in order to attend. This is a great opportunity for students to get help, improve grades, and strengthen their learning before the trimester ends.

With care,

Miss Torres & Ms. Morales Garcia
