Woodcrest Wolverines

Principal's Message

Dear Woodcrest Families,

We are officially 7 school days away from Winter Break, and we encourage all students to finish strong—both in their academics and in showing their holiday spirit around campus!

Please mark your calendars:

  • Wednesday, December 17th is a minimum day, with dismissal at 1:48 PM.

  • This is our last day of school before Winter Break.

  • We will return to school on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Our Raising Cane’s fundraiser is being rescheduled for after the break—new details will be shared soon.

We hope to see many of our families at the Chino Christmas Parade this Saturday, December 13th, where our amazing Woodcrest Band will be marching! The band will also be performing at their Christmas Concert on Monday, December 15th at 6 PM in the gym. Please come out and support our talented Wolverines.

Let’s make this a great final week and a half of 2025 together!

Please ensure your student:

  • Arrives to school and each class on time.
  • Comes prepared and ready to learn each day.
  • Brings their school ID, charged laptop and charger, and all necessary materials.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support in helping every Woodcrest Wolverine succeed!

Important Reminders:

  • Student ID badges must be worn daily. If a student does not have their ID they can go to the office to have one printed for them for the day. On the 3rd instance they will receive a lunch detention for not being responsible. It is the student's responsibility to wear it daily. ID Badges are used during lunch time to speed up the process for students getting their lunch in the lines. If students do not have their ID's on them they will be asked to go to the back of the line as to not hold up the lunch lines.

  • Hats are not permitted on campus

  • No Gum on campus

  • Phones, ear buds, headphones, and all electronic devices must be turned off and stored in backpacks before entering campus

  • There is no student drop-off in front of the school

    • Students may enter from the north side by the park or the south side near the Library (see map below)

  • Students should bring their agendas, charged laptops, and chargers every day

  • Please review the student handbook located in the agenda before the first day of school

  • Every Friday is School Spirit Day! Wear purple, black, grey, or a Woodcrest shirt

  • Dismissal is at 3:15 PM

Thank you,

Mrs. Taylor

Principal

Drop Off and Pick Up Options

Dear Woodcrest Families,

To help keep our students safe, please follow our designated drop-off and pick-up procedures:

South Side (Bon View Entrance)

  • Enter from Bon View (next to Liberty Elementary).

  • Pull forward toward Campus before stopping.

North Side (Driveway Past the Gym)

  • Enter the driveway past the main office and the gym.

  • Continue down the second driveway and follow the loop to exit.

Front of the School (Campus Street)

  • You may use the pull-in section along Campus Street for drop-off or pick-up.

  • This is not part of the driveway.

🚫 Not Allowed

  • No drop-off or pick-up in the driveway directly in front of the office.

  • No parking in school parking spaces for drop-off or pick-up.

  • No stopping or parking in the private community across from the school.

    • This is private property, and the community has informed us that vehicles will be towed or ticketed.

Why This Matters
Students use the crosswalks in our parking lots, and unauthorized driving through these areas creates safety hazards.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping all Wolverines Respectful, Responsible, and Safe!

Phones need to be turned off and in backpacks prior to entering the gates, along with earbuds, headphones, any electronics.

As the weather is changing we still have sweatshirts available for purchase!

Purchase Spirit Wear in the Office to support our ASB!

PBIS Spirit Points and Student Involvement

Grade levels earn spirit points throughout the school year and the grade with the most points at the end of the year earns an extra end of the year activity.

Counselor Corner

💬 Counselor’s Corner: December 8th–17th

Dear Families,

We are in the final stretch before Winter Break! These next several days are important as we wrap up academic work, prepare for the holidays, and finish strong in Trimester 2, 6 weeks.

📚 End of 6 Weeks – Friday, December 12th
This Friday marks the end of the 2nd 6-week grading period for Trimester 2. These grades are especially important for students interested in basketball tryouts in January, as eligibility is based on GPA and citizenship.

Please encourage your student to:

  • Turn in any missing assignments

  • Check in with teachers

  • Use study time wisely

  • Ask for help if needed

There is still time to make meaningful academic progress before grades are finalized!

Minimum Day – Wednesday, December 17th
We will have a minimum day on Wednesday, December 17th. Please plan accordingly. This will be our final school day before Winter Break.

🌟 PBIS: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe
Students can continue earning PBIS points for positive behavior. They may redeem points for items in the Wellness Room/Zen Den before school. Let’s finish the year strong by showing our Woodcrest Wolverine expectations every day!

💜 Social-Emotional Support
This time of year can be joyful but also overwhelming. Remind your child to take care of themselves by:

  • Resting well

  • Staying organized

  • Asking for support when they need it
Our counseling team is here to help every student with academic, social, and emotional needs.

Let’s make these final days meaningful and end the year with pride and positivity! 💜🐾

📘 Before School Intervention has started!
Before School Intervention Program for students who need extra academic support.

  • Days: Every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

  • Time: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM

  • Location: Library
Students who are struggling in their classes should see Miss Torres for a Before School Intervention Permission Slip. A parent signature is required in order to attend. This is a great opportunity for students to get help, improve grades, and strengthen their learning before the trimester ends.

With care,

Miss Torres & Ms. Morales Garcia
